Laptop Battery Damaged?

My Vaio notebook had a problem in the AC jack and suddenly i noticed it wouldn´t charge properly. Also I noticed in that month the battery was not charging at all. As soon as the plug was off the notebook the computer went off and then I fixed the AC jack, but the battery seems to be dead. Is there anything I can do to try to recuperate it? Cause is quite new. I´ve been using this Sony PCGA-BP2NY battery for only 14 months. Hope u can help me. Thanks!--Sconinck 12:21, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

Your battery is probably broken. Most notebook batteries contain multiple cells, and it is possible for one of those cells to get their polarity reversed, ruining the battery. This is pretty common. Get it replaced, under warranty, if possible. If it's no longer covered by the warranty, now you know why. —Joe 14:52, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
