Prep schedule

Thursday May 15

  • 4pm : get some USB keys ready with 703 done Mchua
  • 5pm : take 15 preselected! machines and upgrade them to 703, with help from Mel not done, bumped to tomorrow's todo Mchua
  • sometime today : talk to Wad about using a schoolserver for a strong local access point in the Media Lab.
  • tonight : get 1 customization key ready with the main bundles all machines should have, 1 with all activity bundles we might want to demo, and 1 non-customization key with all bundles on it (for copying one at a time).

Friday May 16

  • 11am: take the machines and a schoolserver + access point over to the Media Lab, with Mel, Daf, Eben, and {you, Nia, David, others} to do a walkthrough, demonstrating the activities to you, and testing the network there. Mako -- can you be around to help out there? We should do a presence test to see how well the XOs can see one another, since every station will have people wondering where the other XOs are. [Daf, would you be in that early?] - done Mchua
  • noon : bring the machines back to 1CC done Mchua
  • grab Robert, Chuck, and others in the office who haven't learned how to demo their machines, and give them a walkthrough (and a "how to give a 5-min demo" talk) as well. done
  • 2pm : talk any presenters who haven't been in Cambridge yet through which activities they are presenting and their exact schedules. Last-minute reqs for people to fill in on Tue. done
  • take 15 preselected! machines and upgrade them to 703, with help from Mel

Monday May 19

  • 11am-noon : give a demo to the new travelling interns.
  • noon-1pm : retest setup in Media Lab if needed.
  • Monday, 3:30-5:30pm : set up space @ 1CC for people to give practice demos to one another : new interns, Olin students, other demo'ers who have just arrived in Cambridge.

Tuesday may 20

  • 8:30am : early setup in Media Lab. Basic network & server test again.
