Interest in OLPC

With support from our administration, our school purchased 5 XO laptops during the first 'Give one Get one' initiative. We use the machines to work on semester end projects as well as investigating non-Windows operating systems.

We are keen to make global connections with schools in other parts of the world using the same technology.

Projects we have tried so far include:

  • Adding the Mohawk language to the Speak activity.

  • Skype on the XO.
  • Investigating teaching introductory programming with Scratch and
  • Using the measure activity to monitor temperature/heart rate.

We are always looking for additional projects to work on.
