Setup the build system

Create the autogen.sh script:

#!/bin/sh
# Run this to generate all the initial makefiles, etc.

srcdir=`dirname $0`
test -z "$srcdir" && srcdir=.

PKG_NAME="sugar-drawing"

(test -f $srcdir/drawing.activity) || {
    echo -n "**Error**: Directory "\`$srcdir\'" does not look like the"
    echo " top-level $PKG_NAME directory"
    exit 1
}

which gnome-autogen.sh || {
    echo "You need to install gnome-common from the GNOME CVS"
    exit 1
}

REQUIRED_AUTOMAKE_VERSION=1.9 USE_GNOME2_MACROS=1 . gnome-autogen.sh

Create a configure.ac file:

AC_INIT([Sugar Drawing],[0.1],[],[sugar-drawing])
AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE

AM_PATH_PYTHON

AC_OUTPUT([
Makefile
])

Automake check for the existence of a few required files, you have to create them even if empty:

touch NEWS README AUTHORS ChangeLog

Write the activity Makefile.am:

activitydir = $(pkgdatadir)/activities/drawing
activity_PYTHON =               \
        __init__.py             \
        Activity.py
EXTRA_DIST = drawing.activity
