Ensure automatic time correction on network switch

Actions

  1. Start terminal activity
  2. Become root (sudo su -)
  3. Set a bogus past-time date e.g. date -s "Jan 03 2008 01:00"
  4. Open neighborhood view
  5. Connect to another known working network where internet access is available
  6. Wait for a minute or two
  7. Open clock activity

Verify

  • Clock activity shows correct UTC time and date

Ensure automatic time correction on boot

Actions

  1. Start terminal activity
  2. Become root (sudo su -)
  3. Set a bogus past-time date e.g. date -s "Jan 03 2008 01:00"
  4. Reboot the machine
  5. Wait for sugar to connect to network, and allow a minute or two for clock sync to happen
  6. Open clock activity

Verify

  • Clock activity shows correct UTC time and date
