Great picture cool to see kids discovering the laptop. I'm wandering the cold temperature is a problem for the XO? Kids can use it outside? PatrickHetu 16:50, 19 January 2008 (EST)

The battery life capacity of charge is greatly diminished due to low temperature, also there is some problem with condensation upon entering from the cold, so it's best to not expose it too much outside by keeping it in a backpack or inside a jacket/coat/blanket/etc. --Chief Mike 06:53, 31 January 2008 (EST)

"Gyr" or "ger" is the name of their dwellings?

I found their dwellings fascinating, so looked them up. They are what is known in English as a Yurt. Indeed, I've helped to put one up for a week-long encampment. I had no idea the design was from Mongolia. The best reference I found online was the Wikipedia page on Yurts. This includes photos of how one is constructed. It calls them "ger", as does the Lao Hats page about Mongolian Gers. Gnu 03:36, 22 January 2008 (EST)

Yurt = English for Ger. It is pronounced "gaer". This is the traditional dwelling, made of felt and portable for nomadic herders. Ulaanbater is the capital, and the city with the most money in Mongolia. Keep this is mind when you view the pictures, many children have much less than those shown. But in the capital city most of people don't live in the ger. most of them are living in the apartment as well...
