Mass installation

Use an action-key to install cerebro.rpm and the Xavier activity (used for debugging of activity sharing and chat using Cerebro).

Next test plan

Extend the number of nodes to over 50 and test the following:

  • Chat
  • Changing buddy properties and making those changes visible across the rest of the nodes
  • Share large files and measure the time it takes to share a file with all other nodes in a dense environment scenario, the overhead of the protocol and a comparison with the time and overhead of TCP.

The plan is to add another 15 nodes (B4) to those already hanging from the ceiling. This involves the following:

  • about 3 power strips
  • 15 ethernet cables
  • 15 USB-to-ethernet adapters
  • 15 slots in switches

Previous test and results

So far, Cerebro has been tested on up to 27 XOs. Here are some preliminary test results Experimental results.
