XO B4

Beta test model BTest-4, also known as B4. Several thousand of these were made, to provide laptops for early trials.

Identification

• rubber antenna "ears"
• dimples only on battery cover; no texturing of bumpers and other surfaces
• labels under battery include "B4 - TEST SAMPLE",
• hinge white,
• no keyboard LEDs.

Restrictions

• electrical system defects, while running Q2D05 firmware, see #1835, #1752, #4476, #4479,
  • occasional crashes, made worse by suspend and resume, if battery low (#1835),
  • WLAN USB hangs, made worse by suspend and resume, (#1752, #4476),
  • DCON power cycling crash, (#4479),
  • rare crashes during suspend and resume, (#1835),
