Biography

I’m a 20 year old student pursuing my undergrad from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University, Noida with Information Technology as my major. I have been developing applications as university projects until now and have also have worked as a freelancer. I have just finished my junior year and also leading my University’s Library R&D Team.

I’m passionate about developing user-oriented applications. Combined with my interest and specialization in GUI designing, I have always been regarded as one of the best designers of numerous applications in my University. Users’ perspective and feedback about the software really fascinates and motivates me to build more friendly designs. During my Data Structures course I developed a text editor application “TextPRO” in ‘C’ language. And again, during my Object Oriented Programming course, I developed typing tutor “TypeTut”, built in C++.

I have been following open source technologies since almost a year as a user. Attending various FOSS events was the major highlight of this incubation period. And now I want to enter the development phase so that I can start contributing to the open source community as soon as possible. During my search to initiate the process I started exploring new horizons and came across GSoC. It’s a stupendous effort from Google and all the organizations to promote Open Source. It’s a fantastic and “open” learning opportunity for me to work with experienced and senior developers of Open Source. Although, I was not selected this time for GSoC-2008 but I'm very happy that OLPC selected me for their Developer's Program to contribute to the motive of OLPC. Thanks!

Rejected Proposal for GSoC 2008

I wish to develop a Typing Tutor for XO Machine. Please read LetsType
