Questions:
- Which plug type do the XOs come with?
- Will the XOs always be stationed in the same classes?
- We would want to have access points near the XOs, which may mean installing more than would be needed for 100 XOs (simply so that all usage locations are covered).
- Can we link the access points using ethernet cables, or do we have to rely on wireless distribution?
- I guessed with some cable details above
- Which power plugs come with the XO chargers? (asked on corps list)
- We can hopefully buy the appropriate power splitters for schools, but if the children want to take them home then we would need individual travel adapters, unless we are provided with the correct power plugs.
- Which plug type is available at the school?
- Do children usually have electricity at home? If so, which type of plugs?
Electricty usage
- 100 laptops at 5W for 6 hours per day = 5W x 100 laptops x 6 hours = 3000 watt-hours
- 1 XS at 150W for 8 hours per day = 150W * 8 hours = 1200 watt-hours
- 3 APs at 35W for 8 hours per day = 35W * 3 * 8 hours = 840 watt-hours
Total: 5040 watt-hours every school day
