BTest refers to the beta testing of the laptop hardware. These are limited production runs of actual laptops to improve the hardware design, and to support development. The software, at least as of BTest-1, is however still in alpha test - it is still being rapidly modified. You do not need a laptop to try the OS, or to try just the human interface Sugar, though both are currently mostly of interest to software developers who would like to assist us.
