Since 2008, OLPC Asia has been responsible for outreach and coordination of projects across East Asia, notably in China and Bhutan.

Thos group oversaw deployment of laptops to Sichuan province after the earthquakes in 2008, and to a large school in Bhutan. Projects are in discussion elsewhere in East Asia. In late 2011, the volunteer team revisited the 1000-child Sichuan deployment to update and improve their laptops.
