2012 03 12 to 16: JVLconsulting.tk visited several Ministers and the Vice-President of this first november 2010 democratically elected government after a 50 years of dictatorship. The international community has freed several 10ths of billions of € to support and build out this new democracy. The government had to identify priorities. In this framework, JVLconsulting.tk proposed a.o. a Waste2Bales2Buildings demonstration project where a.o. a school would be built. This linked immediately to another project: an Education project reaching out to the adults via the kids and here the OLPC Education project was introduced. The weeks before, JVLconsulting.tk Sven AERTS (former OLPC and OLPCO2e Europe) exchanged viewpoints with Giulia D'AMICO - former OLPC Europe and OLPCO2e and actually employed by OLPC at the USA HQ. A budget was calculated for a 10.000 XO deployment which came to some $4.284.633. This budget was mentioned to the government and allowed

  1. to see their reaction and
  2. to make them used to the fact that hardware is just 1 part of the total costs, next to of course the human costs for training, setting up an organisation inside the Ministry of Education, training the teachers, deployment, etc.
  3. to make the Ministers and their Staff understand that indeed the deployment phase is the most spectacular phase, but it needs to be preceeded by a Data-gathering fase, a Pre-Deployment phase and followed by a Follow up Phase.

2012 02 xx: Seems like a smart thing to do, to first use the search function of this wiki, type in 'Guinea' and 'Guinée" and see what's been done.--SvenAERTS 18:12, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Guinea returned following relevant pages:
