Field modification of case

A reasonable alternative to the field modification described is to make allowance for an opening in the die casting. External evidence of this detail in the machine from the factory should be minimal. A carefully designed groove on the inside surface and a smaller groove on the outside will allow a small piece of plastic to be broken out using pliers. The broken surface may need smoothing with a small file. Then it should be ready to accept the serial connector. Regards, ... Peasthope 22:43, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
