This week's LICK:

Otellini and Intel certainly tried to BITE. But their announcement of a lower-cost machine and a billion dollars to be spent on education in developing countries is also a LICK for the OLPC idea that laptops are too obese and too expensive.

I think this will be a trend. The idea that laptops need to be expensive, fragile and ephemeral is a spell that has been cast over the thinking of the world by the magicians of the computer industry. OLPC has begun the process of breaking that spell.
