ProductionCommons

A Production Commons is a way for investors to buy the tools needed (approximately whatever equipment Quanta uses) to begin production of even more hardware.

This would increase the viral nature of the OLPC tremendously.

I wonder if the originators would allow just anyone to become a producer. Are the complete design specifications available? Are they under a license (hopefully the GPL) that would allow us to start a Production Commons? I've looked for them, but didn't find them.
