The City of Edinburgh Council in Edinburgh, Scotland has started a project called "Learning Hubs" which is examining the usefulness and feasibility of an internet enabled device per child in some of its schools. The original idea was one laptop per child but financial pressures led the project to consider pda type devices and the first two schools are using these.
