OLPCO2e
This was an idea proposed by Sven Aerts to develop and unlock the Low Carbon Economy Potential or "CO2 e-Certificates" or "Kyoto Protocol" potential of OLPC's projects and mission. It briefly had its own site proposed at OLPCO2e.org, which redirects to this page. The project as a whole was not pursued / did not proceed.
Some highlights of the proposed but deprecated idea:
- It was connected variously to the UN goal of Universal Primary Education by 2015, and to other UN programs such as Agenda 21
- An "Animated OLPCO2e Assistant" was discussed and designed
- A Quality Control Panel was developed for the proposal
- It had its own OLPCO2e Virtual/Wiki Office (on a different wiki...), a separate Discussion Group, and a private "Staff & Kernel Team" wiki (unclear what the Kernel team would have been for). Also a google calendar, and office hours. Editors of this wiki have no access to those external sites, and neither do OLPC staff... so we have no control over their content.
