First Test recruitment, July 2007

This is a copy of the email I sent my cousins, age 12 and 11. Feel free to adapt for your own purposes, but please copy me on the email so we know who we're getting reviews in from; contact info on my userpage. Note that you'd have to volunteer to be there and help the children test for the entire time. If you can't do that but think they would be very good testers, contact me before sending out the email, and I'll see if I or someone else can be there to help them out. We are looking for between 4-8 testers for this weekend, July 14-15 2007. Mchua 15:04, 12 July 2007 (EDT)

Dear Melanie and Mia,

We're having our first content release next week, and are looking for a small group of good middle-school testers to help us review materials.

Do you have about 2 hours (or if you're feeling really brave, 3 hours) free sometime this weekend - anytime on Saturday or Sunday? (I am free anytime.) It would be fun if the two of you could schedule it so you could be online at the same time and test things together while talking, but we can do it separately as well.

I would be there with you the whole time, in a chatroom (I have a private one that we can use) that would just have the two (or three) of us. Your parents and siblings are more than welcome to join in with you, if they would like, but you'd be the main tester in your house for the weekend, and would get to be their "boss" for the 2 hours. :)

We will have a library of books and games and such to go through, to see what you think of them and how you like them. Are they fun, interesting to play, easy to read? Think of the reviews of movies and books you see in the newspaper, or what you'd say to your friends if they ask you about a new computer game you like playing. We'll be reading books, playing games, and so on, and writing similar reviews so the developers and authors can see whether the things they're making are actually fun and interesting to the kids who will end up using them.

Let me know if you would be interested, and if so, when you would want to test this weekend.

Love,

Achi Mel
