FAT and long file names

Does a requirement for VFAT or long file names have a bearing on the choice of FAT16 vs. FAT32? Apparently both FAT can have long file names in Linux. Is there any subtle difficulty which needs mention? Thanks, ... Peasthope 19:00, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
