Cursor Bug

I got a second hand g1g1 XO on 2/23/08 (6 days ago as of this writing). I updated to build 656 but I think I've observed something like the "infamous cursor bug" tho less than before the upgrade (?). I looked on the bug tracker but got lost in the details and the comments related to the joyride version etc. It seems like an authoritative current status report on this bug here or linked from here would be useful.
