Thanks Cjl. Unfortunately, I can't make it, but maybe someone else from the CLub can. --Mike Lee 17:46, 28 April 2008 (EDT)

Games For Health looks interesting and sorry to not have read the page before, but in Mass instead of Baltimore this year...

NECC

National Education Computing Conference announced http://center.uoregon.edu/ISTE/NECC2009/ mentioned here: http://blog.melchua.com/2009/06/21/im-going-to-necc/ is in Washington, DC this week...

Sounds like Learning Club DC has people going for open source pavillion, some regulars and using Lending Library machines, so seems appropriate to announce here too...

Speaker's Bureau

A couple months ago, during a series of requests Nicholas made for me to do laptop demos around the D.C. area, Walter suggested that the OLPC Learning Club should start a speaker's bureau. I personally will make myself to do demos and appearances as much as I am able, and I am sure Wayan will do the same. Between us, we have visited NGOs, non-profits, local school systems, embassies, and congressional offices. Going forward, I'd like to maintain a list here on the wiki of Learning Club members who want to make themselves available to do presentations, share between us the presentation resources and log presentations made (at those that can be mentioned publically). Thoughts? --Mike Lee 17:46, 28 April 2008 (EDT)

Other Contributors

While not written well, bringing up the after / daycare like nature of bringing a robot, while adults talk amongst themselves, being deleted on here is an issue with me...

Plus spending most of a week prepping 10+ lending library machines, which I probably could have spoken up about in the meeting, but combined is looking like a trend...

Unfortunately, it is common to have leaders want to be everything and while certainly the driving force at times, if it were just them, some would be just sitting in a meeting alone (as I've done on other things until things start going)...

So having spent money I can't on hardware for parts to fix a lending library machine this week and not being able to afford tickets to NECC where others could, I guess I'm a bit pissed...

I thought this project was a community process?
