New questions

For translation, what pages/docuemtns would you say are high priority? How about a ranking? --colinz 23:29, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

What should teams be fundraising for? They will already have $10,000 in operating expenses, 100 laptops, and 1 school server from OLPC. Should they be raising funds for accessory projects? Should they be raising funds to support the installation in the long term? --colinz 00:33, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

If someone outside of our team, like a local teacher, joins in Rwanda and we cover their transportation through the stipend, will their lodging, food etc be covered by OLPC (as students' are)? --Sburton 03:29, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Can we apply to receive more than 100 laptops? The school we are working with has 314 students ages 6-12, plus 10 teachers. We'd like to have all students and teachers own XO laptops (saturation), plus it would be much more cost effective to do them all at the same time. If we can't receive more than 100 laptops with one proposal, can we submit multiple proposals in the same year for the same school? -- Janissa 17:47, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Other summer program ideas

  • In addition to students, teachers also tend to have free time in the summer and are interested in working with children. A program for teachers would probably be very popular.
  • How about a program that lets interested industry professionals help in some meaningful way? Many of us have expertise that could be really helpful to an OLPCorps Team or in other key support roles. I recognize the value of engaging student leaders, but please don't ignore the value of us professionals.
  • How about an OLPCorps America, where we focus on the homefront? There are plenty of opportunities for the OLPC project to help underserved American schools and students! If our governments here won't make modern primary education a solid priority, somebody has to show them how it can be done and why it's so vital. Let's try to make America an example of how OLPC can change the world.
