Is the page intended to be replaced by Ebook_collections?? --Walter 04:40, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

Not really. This page contains the original text of the Ebook collections page, apparently put there by a company that wants to be the standard source of OLPC eBooks. However, Sj says on the eBook collections page that there will be no official source of eBooks, so these two pages definitely cover different things.
As for whether or not it should be deleted, I'm not sure. On the one hand, the World Public Library may be providing a useful resource; I believe they have some stuff that Project Gutenberg doesn't, for instance. On the other hand, their offerings don't quite satisfy the requirements on the Ebook collections page, in that the downloaded books are neither freely modifiable nor redistributable without restriction. To make this "OLPC eBook Collection", they are essentially recopyrighting public domain books, adding both conditions for use and advertisements for their paid-members-only book collection. That they emphasize the FREEness of the collection over the added restrictions seems somewhat disingenuous. —Joe 14:18, 7 May 2007 (EDT)

THis page is an advertisement

This page is an advertisement for a company which sells ebooks. They only sell ENglish language ebooks which suggests that they are not terribly relevant to OLPC projects in non-ENglish speaking countries.

This page should be deleted, as should other thinly veiled ads which only serve to drive traffic to a commercial site.

Please do not delete. Our intention is to provide background information regarding the Open Access project OLPC eBook Collection and the company that is producing it for you.

Please remove this request for deletion.
