Backward Compatibility

First make sure the machine is NOT installed with the latest build. Then locate the latest build from the following directories:

http://xs-dev.laptop.org/~cscott/olpc/
http://pilgrim.laptop.org/~pilgrim/olpc/

Actions:

  1. Launch Browse, go to an external website, and then close Browse.
  2. Launch Write, type something, and then close Write.
  3. Launch Paint, draw something, and then close Paint.
  4. Launch Record, take a picture, record an audio clip, record a video clip, and then close Record.
  5. Update the machine to the latest build, using olpc-update.
  6. After update, reboot the machine and go to Journal.

Verify:

  • All previous work (files) can be opened from Journal after the update.
  • All previous activities can be resumed from Journal after the update.
