These instructions are a specialised version of the Autoreinstallation image page for upgrading from build 542 to build 656.

Creating the upgrade key

  • Get a blank USB key
  • Download olpc-auto.zip
  • Unpack it in the root of the USB key; it will create a boot/ directory
  • Download os656.img and [1] and put them in the boot/ directory on the USB key
  • Unmount the USB key and remove it
