Some thought and useful links for our 708 testing effort.

Useful pages

Update.1 This is the technically oriented base page for Update.1. This page contains links to test cases, trac reports, and has tables of test results. It seems pretty inactive, the last update was June 5, and result tables are only up to build 691. We should either clone this for our own use or if it seems appropriate, add our results to this.

OLPC Human Interface Guidelines underly main of the individual tests in the test case suites. Again, this document may be out of date. Last significant revision April 9.

Designs is a series of slideshows. This focuses on the Sugar 'shell' rather than behavior of Activities.

Tests is the root of the testing subtree in the wiki.

Trac is the bug tracking system. Here you can browse what bug activities have occurred, search for bug reports for particular activities, etc. With a login, you can create and edit bug reports. You can also request to be notified when action is taken on a particular bug.

Core Activities with test plans

As our efforts are likely to be more activity oriented here's some activities that have test plans:

Tests/Browse. What Browse version should we be using? 90 is listed as current on the Activities page. 92 is current in Joyride.

Tests/Write

Tests/Record

Tests/Paint

Tests/Chat

Core Activities without test plans

Maybe we should take it upon ouselves to create these.

  • Read
  • News Reader
  • Tam Tam

Non-core Activities

There are some non-core activities with test plans. These could help us understand how to write test plans.

Tests/Memorize

Tests/Implode

Tests/BlockParty

Tests/Connect

Content

There is some pre-installed content that should be checked. This content also provides some test cases for the activities that display it.
