My growing interest in free/libre and open source software culminated in the writing of my PhD (not yet fully finished), "Commercial open source development in large IT firms: idealism, pragmatism, or strategy?" at the Technical University in Berlin. The vision of OLPC convinced me completely, the combination of technology and pedagogy also appeals to me very strongly.
