Guide

For now, the procedure is simple: Edit the relevant section, add (copy and paste, and edit accordingly) your information to the wiki page (get a wiki.laptop.org account if you don't have one already), and contact anyone who's in the other section. that might be able to help you out. Be sure that your personal wiki page contains or links to sufficient contact information. Alternately, you can edit anonymously, and put all your contact information on this wiki page (under "Location"). This wiki page has a history (see the tab above?), so you can't mess it up too badly, so give it a try! If you are still worried about wiki editing, maybe you could ask for help on one of the forums.

Example:

Name: User: Sarah_Elkins

  • Location: Washington DC area
  • Offering Loan or Gift: Loan
  • Willing to Ship: No
  • Comments: This is an example!

Disclaimer

This registry was inspired by a topic on the OLPC News forum, [1]. Some people are willing to pass on their XOs to others, either as a gift or a loan. At present, the registry is simply intended as a way for people to identify themselves as needing or offering XOs. Neither OLPC, OLPC News, AuntiMame nor Sarah Elkins are responsible for any miscommunications.

Improve This Page!

Maybe you know of another resource for XO exchanges, or another wiki.laptop.org page that should link here. Or you may have another idea to improve this page. Go ahead and add the information! This page has a history, so if you make a mistake, it's not fatal. Note, instructions for table creation are at [2], but table editing might be trickier for wiki newbies; revisit table question if this page gets a lot of names added?
