Alabama, a state of 4.5 million people in the United States. It hosts the first large-scale deployment of XOs within the US, in Birmingham.

A deployment across Birmingham's early primary schools began in early 2008, and is scheduled to complete its delivery of laptops by the fall. See OLPC Birmingham for more details.
