Survey Questions L.M(LIS English Teacher) R.S (Maligaya Elementary - English,Math Science Teacher) R.S.(LIS - Math Teacher) M.A(LIS - Science Teacher)
1. How do you think technology can assist you in the classroom? I think with technology a pupil can ultimately learn at his/her own pace. Aside from this it will be one’s stepping stone to get higher grades. It can also enhance kids’ creativity. It can serve as tutors for pupils/students who are falling behind. We are now in the age high technological inventions. Technology is applied in all aspects of life. Now, learners have great inclination to technology. Learning would be in its effective flow through the use of it. Moreover, it would lead to the best outcome and outstanding interaction. Technology such as computers does a great a variety of task such as handling quantities of information. They play important role in the classroom like a teaching aid that can accomplish a lot of things at a lightning speed without confusion. It can handle vast amount of facts and figures and solved problems at incredibly speed that can be manipulated by the school children, so it can reduce the learning time and improve the performance of many students. In the classroom setting, I think technology will helps lots specially in presenting a lesson through audio-visual materials.
2. How do you see your students benefiting from technology? As I said with this new trend they will develop creativity. Topics in different learning areas would be well- tackled and grasped by students through the use of graphics/ pictures (UBD Approach- Understanding By Design). They would probably be a high breed learners. With the aid of technology like computer, it takes the students through a lesson step by step until the subject matter has been mastered. It can drill, tutor or carry on a dialogue in which the student make up problem and has the machine solve them. The computer can also judge the performance according p predetermined standards. I have a dream that every classroom has an LCD and a ratio of one is to one computer. I see every children if that happens will grow as technologically oriented and acts as like as they are winner.
3. In your specific subject area, where do you think technology would help well? Note: Please be specific. Feel free to give us a list from the Basic Education Curriculum that your students have the most trouble understanding. Example: Math - Decimal operations or English - Articulation/Comprehension. It will be of great help in : a. Distinguishing the parts of speech b. comprehension skill as well as articulation skill c. Correct use of prepositions d. Use of idiomatic expressions e. giving the idea that a particular poem conveys f. drawing possible conclusions from a story readSCIENCE- Anatomy of Man, Animals and Plants Solar System ENGLIGH- Subject- Verb Agreement Reading / Selections (Facts and Fantasy) In MATHEMATICS, here are the topics which technology help best; 1. Visualizing the addition and subtraction of dissimilar fraction. 2. Set up a proportion for a given situation . 3. Rounding decimals 4. Multiplying fraction by another fraction with visual models . 5. Ordering fraction in simple and mixed from ascending order using the different methods . History- Presidents of the Philippines and their Governance -Historical Places in the Philippines (we need a documentary film)
4. In your specific subject area, which topics do you find difficulty in conveying? If you can, please give us the reasons in detail. It could be lack of materials on both the school and child's part, text book inadequacy in explaining or illustrating the concept, etc. The hardest thing I had was how they see the point /-- idea an author wants to project in a specific poem or story. It may be due to their lack of comprehension. SCIENCE- Anatomy of Man, Animals and Plants Solar System ENGLIGH- Subject- Verb Agreement Reading / Selections (Facts and Fantasy) In MATHEMATICS, here are the topics which technology help best; 1. 5. Do you use computer programs, e.g. Word, Excel, and Internet to assist you in creating lesson plans, materials and other preparations for the classroom? OFTEN.I was able to download online exercises which I let the pupils answer. In some cases, I used computer technology like Microsoft Word, Excel in creating and computing of grades. Yes I do it before, but in Lubang the main problem is the availability of technology. I usually arrived at power point presentation.
6. How do you think "integration of technology in the classroom" should be applied? It should already be integrated in the school curriculum. Teachers should have an intensive training on the use of technology. Besides, he should be an open- minded person who rejects the traditional methodologies which are less effective.Adequate resource, and facilities should be provided to him and to the school also. Integrate the use of technology in the curriculum. Integration of technology in the classroom should be applied whenever it is possible.
7. What do you think are the ways to sustain the integration of technology in the classroom? Confer with the Dep Ed regarding the curriculum Schools, teachers and students should be well- equipped with technological facilities. Technical support should immediately be accessible in cases of troubles. Teachers must have a commitment and dedication to this trend. Create a lesson plan that integrates the use of computer technology. Integrate the use of technology in the curriculum. Put the proper people in the authority, a person who welcomes changes, quite progressivist and constructivist in views. Create a lesson plan that will integrate the use of technology. Provide an Ed tech materials in every classroom and make it available to everyone.
8. How do you see technology helping your students in the long term/ future? It will offer them great access to information , an eager motivation to learn and it will enable them to a jump-start on their future work skills. They will learn more with themselves as they explore. They will be globally competent and aware on the latest updates. A classroom will still be a classroom but technology will transform more of the day learning experience. Wall mounted video, white board will replace teacher’s chalk board, handwriting with readable facts and colorful graphics-drawn from the internet. I see them as champion students, well equipped people in the future.
9. How do you see technology helping in education in the long term/future? Computer education is a positive supplement to bridge the gap between education and the technological world in which we live in. It will help the pupils/student to achieve their full development potential. Quality and Relevant Education will be imparted always to the students. As a result, we can meet our needs and adapt ourselves to this fast changing world. Technology in education will definitely be of great help to students and teachers alike. It should be a part of every students and teachers lives. Particular lessons can be answered that takes only a minute to pull together to a visual show. Technology will help lots in education especially in the discovery of new facts and reshaping the existing ideas and principles. It also breaks the gap of distance education and making education possible to all.

Survey Questions L.M(LIS English Teacher) R.S (Maligaya Elementary - English,Math Science Teacher) R.S.(LIS - Math Teacher) M.A(LIS - Science Teacher)
Advantages A Pupil will learn at her/his own pace.Pupil will like it better because as days go on they will be more comprehensive with multi-media it will also increase family involvement and will improve the teacher’s teaching skill. Computer assisted instruction will enhance variety of learning styles. The assessment will create an atmosphere of active participation. It can reach the literacy issues in the classroom which teachers cannot. With this technology, teachers can develop the skills and abilities needed to accurately aid the pupils with their computer age. Learning would be easy (less chalk- talk activity) but in its best result. Consequently, students interest and enthusiasm would be easily aroused. They will be closed to the realities seen in the pictures, actual videos or moving pictures. Resourcefulness would be more enhanced in both teachers and students as they explore in the internet. Some of the advantages of having technology are that it provides interaction so you can ask question and get an answer. Technology gives pupil great latitude to exploit their own best styles of learning and areas of interest. With the use of this technology in the classroom there is no end to answer available to the inquisitive mind of the pupils as well as the teachers. Computers will not dominate the the learning experience of a child but it will effectively augment learning. In other ways computers limit the amount and the quality of experience of a child like in painting , computer learning also makes a child turn away from a world into an imitation world and it also discourage social interaction One of the advantages of having technology in the classroom is that the children will lessen the burden of studying
Disadvantages Writing skills of the pupil will be hampered. Their socio-cultural interaction will be lessened. Since technology does all the work for the pupil and students, it does not allow them to digest what they have learned. It interferes with the pupils need for human support that they receive from the teacher-based instruction. It takes more of the thinking process out of the pupils. It needs ample time to prepare the presentation prior to the execution. Technical problems and maintenance are always there. In other ways computers limit the amount and the quality of experience of a child like in painting , computer learning also makes a child turn away from a world into an imitation world and it also discourage social interaction It will somehow makes the writing skills (the manner of writing) fades.
