The software used on the childrens laptop must be localized. To translate software does not need programming skills.

It would be a good idea to go to the country pages for the language you are interested in. Most country pages are named OLPC Countryname where Countryname is the English name for the country. You can get a list of them by going to this page Special:Categories and clicking on the Country category.
