Talk:Mesh Network Details

I worked with mesh networks before, are you going to implement a limit on transmiting station. the more stations you have in the mesh , the more collisions your going to get, until effective throughput is zero.

This is addressed through management of transmit power.

how do you handle hidden nodes?

"Standards compliance" isn't 100% clear: i take it XO mesh - as opposed to the original WiFi modes its capable of - is/will not be not inter-operable with much anything else.

What radio frequency/frequencies does the mesh network use on the XO laptop? mistapotta 10:06, 10 January 2008 (EST)

Would it be possible for someone to compile a HOWTO on how to set up a mesh network in other flavours of Linux that is compatible with the OLPC mesh? Perhaps I am wrong, but it seems that the more people are experimenting with this architecture the faster and greater its progress will be. Maybe I have not looked carefully enough, but it seems that the idea of OLPC compatible implementations has not occurred to anyone (except in the case of school servers).

I, personally, am looking forward to a totally meshed world. This would also give the OLPC a very obvious and laudable advantage over the Classmate.
