Converting the text in the pdf to unicode text was more painful than I thought it would be. In order to expedite the process of translation, the procedure is now simpler. Simply mark below what section (and pages) you will be translating, and put the translation (or the work in progress) on the main page of this article.

[edit] Font discovery in PDF

Open the PDF in a text editor (not with a PDF viewer). Search for the string "font". You will find it a number of times, below I've listed small snips of what are probably the important ones for you along with links to download sites.

• BaseFont/FGGIFN+Ganess/
• BaseFont/FGGJNF+Kantipur/
  • http://www.cwin.org.np/nepali_fonts/nepali_fonts.htm

• FontName/IKDNBI+Kantipur
  • http://www.nepalnews.com.np/kantipur_font.htm

• FontName/KOPMMH+JagahimalBold/
  • http://www.pravasi.com.np/pravasi/fonts.htm

There are others, but they are generally variants of familiar (to me) English fonts (e.g. Tahoma, Calibri, TimesNewRoman).
