[edit] Some considerations about SCIM

  • SCIM used to cause a quite frequent wakeups on CPU. (see http://linuxpowertop.org) Not sure if this is already fixed in the upperstream.
  • Several package like SCIM contains many non-necessary (to XO) dependencies and it's kind of waste on the limited disk space. I remember that SCIM RPM uses perl to do the configuration which is actually not working for Sugar. A repacked XO version would be needed.

[edit] scim not working on G1G1

I have follow the instruction, but ctrl-space does not call out the input method.

ps ax show scim.

Check on write, browse, terminal
