Introduction

Welcome to the Christian Mission OLPC Site. We are delighted you decided to stop by. Please browse around and ask questions if you require more information. We appreciate your help and support to make this life changing project a reality.

About Us

The Christian Mission OLPC Project - Making a Difference!

We are a grassroots "holistic" mission focused group of Christ followers engaged in utilizing our God given talents (SHAPE) to eradicate illiteracy and spiritual emptiness by educating the next generation and mobilizing our resources so that all can hear and understand the gospel (Good News) in their own language.

The Goal

To donate 100 XO computers to a mission school in Africa by December 2008. To accomplish this, we are requesting financial support or actual donations of XO computers.

Partnering with Local Churches and NGOs

To achieve our goal, we are open to partnering with local churches and non-profit organizations to make this happen. If you know of any such organization that may be interested, please let us know.

Our Ethos

We acknowledge our need to be continually transformed, to continue to open ourselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit, to the challenges of God's word and to grow in Christ together with fellow Christians in ways that result in social and economic transformation. We acknowledge that the scope of the gospel and building the Kingdom of God involves body, mind, soul and spirit. Therefore we call for increasing integration of service to socity and proclamation of the gospel (adapted from LOP #39 - Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization)

Fulfilling the Need

Providing young people with educational opportunities, training options and life skills enables them to meet the demands of the workplaces of tomorrow. Education is for life—it is an investment that cannot be lost, spent or taken away. A good education prepares young people to build on their abilities and sets them up for lifelong learning, so that they can further enhance their opportunities.
