[edit] Typing Turtle

Typing Turtle is an interactive touch typing trainer for the XO laptop.

It features a sequence of lessons designed to gradually introduce students to touch typing, teaching them a few keys at a time until they have mastered the entire keyboard. Fun graphics, sounds and characters make for an entertaining experience. An on-screen keyboard with overlaid hand positions shows the correct way to press each key, encouraging good typing habits.

[edit] Development status

The current development status is pre-alpha. Lessons can be taken, are scored and medals are given out. Lessons can be created by editing simple text files. Much of the graphics are placeholder, and the game components have not yet been integrated.

Development is currently split between the lesson components and the game components. These development branches will be merged once the activity reaches Alpha.
