If enquirers want to learn about edits they can click "Watch this page" when they add their comments. If they fail to do this, tough! This is not a good reason to clutter up main Wiki pages with discussion. There is also a search tool that people can use to find where there may already be coverage of their favourite topic.
Surely this is not a tough wiki where people are deemed to fail!
The item had already been moved once to be in the corresponding Talk page and the original was in an Ideas page where people were encouraged to place ideas.
- It is unfortunate that one has to be tough, but when you attract a crowd you simply must provide crowd control or it devolves into a chaotic mob. Discussions belong in the discussion tab. If the sole purpose of the writer is to communicate an idea to the OLPC team then they achieve this just as well in discussion. If the writer's purpose is to receive a reply from the OLPC team, then perhaps email is a better tool than a wiki.
- The main pages MUST be somewhat organized and orderly so that first-time visitors to a page can learn something. Anything less is confusing and chases visitors away. As an open-source project, OLPC doesn't want to chase too many people away.
This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify him/her. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
