Here are some intial thoughts about a user's manual for G1G1 2008.
Requirements
- shipped with default G1G1 2008 build
- make it available in a variety of formats
- multi-language, preferably covering all languages spoken in G1G1 countries (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, TBD,...)
Would be nice features
- auto-start browse with user's manual on first boot
- make it easily available as a separate activity (a la Gmail-activity)
- localized screenshots and graphics
Timeframe
- June, 31: find contributors, brainstorm about contents => draft TOC
- July, 13: 25% milestone
- July, 27: 50% milestone
- August, 10: 75% milestone; deadline for screenshots, graphics (en)
- August, 17: all text (en) completed
- August, 24: deadline for text-translations and localized graphics
- August, 31: make final versions available in builds, as .xol, on w.l.o, as stand-alone html, print-optimized pdf, on laptopgiving.org
- September, 7: final deadline for project completion, party ;-)

Is the time scale tight for translators? Encourage translators to look at drafts, so they don't wait for final? Nicabod 18:45, 11 June 2008 (EDT)
Will adults among non G1G1 recipients also want to have these? Nicabod 18:46, 11 June 2008 (EDT)
