Shalupe Foundation is a non-profit with centers in Braintree Massachusetts and Kinshasa, DRCongo. The SHALUPE FOUNDATION works actively for accelerating the growth of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Central Africa region. Our team is dedication to promoting change and innovations in social sphere, education to encourage young people’s interests to utilize their huge untapped enthusiasm and energy.

The university students who are part of our organization will be leading the summer stipend program with the other young people and students as volunteers .

Students are: Clement Lonji (University of Kinshasa, Medical Studies); Ntumba Mwanza (University of Kinshasa, Medical Student)

The success of the forthcoming Project is depended on support and cooperation from New ONDE TEAM members an existing US based non-profit and on the young professionals and from SHALUPE FOUNDATION member countries. How will you work with children? The Program In DRCongo from June-August students are on summer break. We will open a small vacation village at The Catholic Center of Kisantu in Bas Congo Paroisse Sainte Famille Centre ISAAC / FOCAK / Kisantu,.

How will this impact 6-12 yr old children? . Creativity Corner will be the name of the program. It will offer a wide variety of school activities to stimulate creativity, growth & development in young children. Creativity Corner offers open-ended art activities that focus on the process, rather than the product. These activities encourage self-expression and develop imagination, a core goal of quality childhood programs. All activities will engage kids 6-12 years old and their learning The project will maintain a database of the activities designed into the daily program, and will build this resource during the project to serve teachers and the school during the next school year. Methodology We will provide the children with opportunities to build knowledge and meaning through active, hands-on exploration which include large and small group instruction, and individual and partner activities. The most effective methods utilized by us include scientifically researched based instructional techniques, programs, language and methods, as well as active daily engagement with children, and differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all learners while supporting high quality children expectations. Community Impact: During the program parents will be invited to participate and engage in some of the learning activities with the children. Volunteers will be trained at the learning center on ICT and placed within classrooms to support students as well as increasing student utilization of the XO. The team will disseminate the Lessons Learned and Best Practices of the project : o Website reports on lessons learned o Website sample student project reports o Forums on topic areas o Audio postings to the website o Video news interviews with teachers and students o Newsletters


Sustainability The Center established for this project will provide ongoing activities to continue to educate, evaluate and spread the adoption and best use of these technologies

Quantitative Direct Impact:

 Students using the XO in a learning context  Educators trained to integrate ICT and XO active learning tools in their curriculum  Outreach to community members, business leaders, national governmental and non-governmental institutions and administers, national constituencies using radio, team presentations and visits to the Center demonstration projects will have a broad impact

Qualitative Impact:

Community Leaders :  Advocacy for technology skills and educational programs.  Exposure by engagement in assessing means to capitalize on technology to produce services and income to the community
