• The MegaPenny Project (how big is a million? billion?)
• The argentine bills and coins you can find them in the Central Bank website ... using the nagivation bar on the left go to "Billetes y Monedas" (bills and coins) and then "Emisiones Vigentes" (current notes). I can start working on getting images processed. Are there ones that are done [so I don't make redundant work]? Also, what would you like me to do with the images after I process them? --Nikki 22:00, 8 July 2007 (EDT)

update: I have Argentinian coins and bills - I was thinking of just putting them all into a .zip. I only included the new versions of the bills [that isn't a problem, I assume], but the different colored versions of the coins. --Nikki 00:14, 9 July 2007 (EDT)

Re 'Are there ones that are done?': I don't believe so. I've only used two br images, which didn't require any processing (well, beyond gif->png).

Re 'what to do with them': Sigh. There is now a Currency images wiki page. The content really belongs on a content portal, or in a general repo, but neither seems to exist yet. Maybe assemble the info on the wiki, and then link to a zip/tar somewhere? And we can move it over once they exist. Hmm, or maybe put them on commons.wikimedia.org? Which is also a potential source. Another issue is organizing and naming the files so they can be easily used. But we'll probably need a python wrapper anyway, so let's gather the images first, and then fiddle. Sound plausible? Do other governments take the same approach as the US, that the currency images from their web sites can be used without restriction?

Regardless, since in each country, OLPC is basically a government project, it seems unlikely anyone will complain. So let's just deal with the technical side, and worry about government policy later. Though perhaps then we can't put everything on commons.wikipedia.org? Do they have a "created by random government" category? MitchellNCharity 15:45, 12 July 2007 (EDT)
