This is the wiki for the OLPC Afghanistan. The mission of this Not for Profit Organization is to create an environment for OLPC, take necessary steps to ensure every child in Afghanistan get the laptops and develop the Local Activities for OLPC laptops that could revolutionize how we educate the children. Introduction
There's a proverb in But our point is, what's wrong with that if it gets the job done? With OLPC Pilot approaching nearer, there are still a lot of strings to be translated (status). So lets get together, roll our sleeves, get some snacks n drinks ready and have a Translation Nite-out!

Coming to stay whole night and work at OLPC Dev Lab has added benefit as there'll be lots of others to consult with and Pashto-English (and vice-versa) dictionaries will be available.
Translation HowTo
We'll be using web based Pootle translation engine as our primary translation mechanism. But you are free to download PO files and translate it using GTranslator or even your favourite text editor.
Translation HowTo specific to OLPC XO can be found here. Translation Guidelines for pashto language can be found here.
To download po file and translate it in your computer (faster way), follow these steps.
- Go to http://dev.laptop.org/translate
- Create an account
- Log in and choose Pashto or Dari
- Click a package (XO Core, XO Bundle, etc)
- Click 'Zip of Folder' link at the top of the page.
- Translate it and upload it back in the same page.
