Mr. Brian Boyle hails from Bayville, New Jersey and is a Senior at the University of Delaware. He is slated to receive his Bachelors Degree of Arts this upcoming May of 2009, with an Honors Degree with Distinction in International Relations . Brian has worked as an ocean beach lifeguard at Island Beach State Park during the summers of 2005 and 2006. During the summers of 2007 and 2008, he worked as a Leadership Mentor and Resident Assistant for the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative youth leadership program. This student exchange program brought young leaders from 15 different countries in the Middle East and North Africa to experience leadership and gain cultural understanding.

During the Fall of 2008, Brian worked tirelessly as the Volunteer Director for the University of Delaware’s Students for Barack Obama. Through this position, he organized weekly trips of between 15 and 80 students to Obama’s campaign office in West Philadelphia. There, these volunteers knocked on a total of more than 1,500 doors. On Election Day, Brian and his team were able to organize 130 University of Delaware students to canvass in West Philadelphia. Since the election, he has devoted much of his time to the College Democrats, where he sits on the board, helping to bring Senator Carper to campus for a discussion and hold a panel discussion on the future of Guantanamo Bay, among other accomplishments.

Brian has traveled to 11 countries outside of the U.S. (Australia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Greece, India, Laos, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Peru, Thailand). He has studied Modern Standard Arabic for 4 semesters at the University of Delaware. Brian enjoys playing sports, reading, and discussing geopolitics.
