In A Nutshell

Journalism Jam New York

  • Where: Columbia University's Wallach Hall (take the 1 train to 116th Street, then check out this map to get to Wallach: http://www.columbia.edu/about_columbia/map/wallach.html)
  • When: September 21-23, 2007
  • Goal: Create and collect a suite of tools for building an open-content newspaper that local high school journalists can then use to produce and print a full newspaper issue in less than 24 hours, then capture that process so others can repeat it.
  • What's Happening:

Come hear two great speakers as part of the event

12:00 PM Friday Wallach Lounge: Eben Moglen, Columbia Law Professor (never heard of him? check him out on YouTube - he's amazing)

5:00 PM Friday Wallach Lounge: Susan Crawford, ICANN Board member

I want to participate!

We need coders, journalists, and general volunteers throughout the weekend. Shoot us an email at bcb2114@columbia.edu

Jams are collaboratively organized events, so the best way to get started is to just dive in and introduce yourself. Participating in this Jam? Have ideas? Want to coordinate rides, teams, projects, or talk about the Jam? Edit the Jam Talk Page!
