MOBILE COMPUTER LESSONS
Am by names Lubwama Javis 22 by age astudent of (I.T) very passionate about this great vision of OLPC movement .In my opinion it has came at the time when we need it AS THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES FOR REAL WE HAVE BEEN LAGGING BEHIND IN TERMS OF COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY and we have to confirm to it because its the truth , the world is turning into a global village where computers and other types of digital peripherals have became part of life .
Due to that i have became part of the Negroponte Dream of letting each child in the world to have a computer knowledge though am still operating behind the scenes. when i read his Vision and mission statement i pondered about it and asked my self how i could be part of the movement i looked at my self that i could not donate a computer but i could be part of the team making the ends meet so that the vision becomes the reality i asked my self what i could offer which is in line with the Negroponte dream.
What i did was to develop my personal i idea which was taking computer skills to people (MOBILE COMPUTER TRAINING) i teamed up with some friends who donated 3 laptops to the idea which have helped me in taking the computer skills to people i find them in there places of residence i do this so as not to affect them financially in the process of transporting them selves to where iam .Normally one session i teach 12 people that is one laptop is used by three people (i wish you could see pictures ) .i teach people computer basics which help them to feel comfortable with computer .
So far i have done that for the last 18 months , with such few computer have seen lives of people change ,have caused a great computer knowledge revolution in the youth. i fell part of the this great OX revolution and i believe its going to improve the rate of development of the third world countries in the next few decades ,one thing that i know any movement focusing on the young people ,its just preparing that nation for a bright future since the future of any country is in the young people and its what am actually focusing at. A few months ago i got an opportunity that one of my friend from the States gave me an OX Laptop i loved its architectural designs and the way my people local people appreciated, to them it didn't sound like the OX laptop is for kids because some of them have never handled computers and the fact that it has access to the wireless internate that caused much love for the OX laptop they love it and they are using it very well since i offer them help, it was a great achievement because it has added on the three laptops i had now in total i have 4 laptops which i use for my MOBILE COMPUTER LESSONS with in the young. Also in my country i normally go to the poor communities and slams .
DO I FACE CHALLENGES SOME BODY ASKED ME. As usual any activate which has much potential in transformation has challenges , so i have a lot of challenges but challenged with much hope . i have a dream that one time i will have a mobile van and generator that will be helping me to move with more than 40 laptops teaching people in the poorest communities of my country.when i look at my country Uganda its ranked as the youngest nation in the world where 70percent of the population are the youth below the age of 25 you can imagine that. It comes back to me as a stuward and an agent of peace and love i have to do something so as to equip such people with the skills that am able to give and the job market today is ready for people with multiple skills and talents .
OTHERWISE I DO THANK THE TEAM BEHIND OLPC THAT YOUR EFFORTS ARE FELT IN UGANDA AND YOU HAVE A DISCIPLE IN UGANDA CALLED JAVIS TRYING HIS LEVEL BEST TO SEE THAT THE DREAM BECOMES A REALITY IN THE THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES .PLEASE CONTINUE SPREADING THE GOSPEL OF CREATIVE INNOVATION TO SEE THAT THIS WORLD BECOMES A GLOBAL VILLAGE FULL OF PEACE,LOVE AND JOY . THAT CAN HAPPEN IF YOU AND ME START PURSING THEM NOW AND TODAY.
