Samuel Klein is the Director of Outreach for One Laptop per Child, working on global advocacy and supporting local content creation by our deployment teams. He has organized jams and workshops with children and teachers in Peru, Uruguay, and the US, and is currently helping OLPC Afghanistan set up an independent national office.
Samuel is also a Wikipedian and a Trustee on the Board of the Wikimedia Foundation, and speaks frequently about the need and uses for free access to and reuse of knowledge. On Wikipedia he helped develop a global translation community, published a multilingual newsletter, and ran the second international Wikimania conference. He currently maintains an offline Wikipedia snapshot for projects such as OLPC.
Samuel studied Math and Physics at Harvard University, and is an Associate of Harvard's Berkman Center for the Internet and Society. He spent time developing translation and learning software before working on access to knowledge.
