Samir - Great and interesting blog.

A couple of questions:

• Did you figure out how to turn off the automatic upgrade? I was also burnt by it after all my development environment was zapped. But not only that, e.g. the localized fonts that I had installed were erased as well. Which made me think that if this PC was in a school in a country whose fonts are not installed by default, and the fonts had been installed on deployment with rpm, and the olpc's were then automatically upgraded, the fonts would have been gone... Something is fishy here.

• Keep up the details about the usb to VGA. I'd like to get a module like that as well, if it works.

• Regarding robotics, I'm planning to do some tests with my Lego NXT, but that is probably too high level for the stuff you want to do.

• Don't know for the automatic upgrade, but I plan to switch on debian-olpc to get more visibility of what happens...
