Website improvement

There have been a lot of suggestions about ways to develop a better website for collaboration, gathering community inputs, and generating reports on work around the world.

Current collaborations:

• stories about OLPC from around the world
  • streams of essays and posts from different team and community members.
• deployment and project information
  • deployment data and project proposals : geotagged, from around the world.
  • news feeds about olpc
• media collections by/about olpc
  • photos, geotagged
• new contributors to the project
  • ...connecting to mailing lists, open tasks, donation forms
  • ...communicating with one another

Desired outputs:

• 2+ blogs (olpc and corps), and the capacity to generate more (a multisite setup)
• a world-writable namespace for collaborative documents (currently this wiki)
• orderly mailing lists and subscriptions
• a database of project-maintainers and contact details; contributors program
• visualizations of the community activity : maps, charts
• donations (and donor lists)
• collections of learning materials, and links to them
