Translation Community
Our Haitian Creole (Kreyòl Ayisyen) translation community started after the first GiveOneGetOne program promised 10,000 XOs to Haiti in 2008. Mokurai, the first Localization Administrator for Kreyòl, recruited Haitians and others who know the language to localize Sugar software, and then turned the job over to them.
Since the earthquake, Haitian Americans have come together on a much larger scale to help Haitians now rearchitecting education for a new Haiti. We began in NYC and Boston Crisis Camps in January 2010, but all are welcome to join, recruit Creole speakers you know, advance long-term solutions around Education in Haiti, contact authors/publishers with open hearts, and start translating!

2010/02/02:EDT I have placed a spreadsheet in html format on line at
http://www.ngohaiti.com/relief/education/status.html
This spreadsheet shows a number of Creole titles (and some French) and their status as far as Copyright release, etc. I will be updating this on a regular basis as I have time to gather additional information. Updates and comments may be addressed to me at jrigdon@ngohaiti.com
==================
John & Geraldine should help expand this list very quickly...initial forays now underway include:
- New York Regents Exam excerpts John suggests -- permission needs to be investigated: http://www.ngohaiti.com/relief/education/
- [UPDATE] Educa Vision, Inc has submitted their catalog and given (us) permission to use any material copyrighted by its publishing house - the 164-item catalog (in Excel format) is uploaded here:
