Pre-deployment Survey:
Lubang,Occidental Mindoro,Philippines
This survey was conducted to prepare the community for the pilot deployment. This is one of the many steps taken by the eKindling team to determine teacher's needs in the classroom as well as to address their concerns about the technology, specific trouble areas that they wish the technology could potentially help with and their expectations on the deployment.
There are four(4) teachers participated in this survey, and they're part of the 5 day teacher's training.

1. How do you think technology can assist you in the classroom? | I think with technology a pupil can ultimately learn at his/her own pace. Aside from this it will be one’s stepping stone to get higher grades. It can also enhance kids’ creativity. It can serve as tutors for pupils/students who are falling behind. | We are now in the age high technological inventions. Technology is applied in all aspects of life. Now, learners have great inclination to technology. Learning would be in its effective flow through the use of it. Moreover, it would lead to the best outcome and outstanding interaction. | Technology such as computers does a great a variety of task such as handling quantities of information. They play important role in the classroom like a teaching aid that can accomplish a lot of things at a lightning speed without confusion. It can handle vast amount of facts and figures and solved problems at incredibly speed that can be manipulated by the school children, so it can reduce the learning time and improve the performance of many students. | In the classroom setting, I think technology will helps lots specially in presenting a lesson through audio-visual materials. |
2. How do you see your students benefiting from technology? | As I said with this new trend they will develop creativity. | Topics in different learning areas would be well- tackled and grasped by students through the use of graphics/ pictures (UBD Approach- Understanding By Design). They would probably be a high breed learners. | With the aid of technology like computer, it takes the students through a lesson step by step until the subject matter has been mastered. It can drill, tutor or carry on a dialogue in which the student make up problem and has the machine solve them. The computer can also judge the performance according p predetermined standards. | I have a dream that every classroom has an LCD and a ratio of one is to one computer. I see every children if that happens will grow as technologically oriented and acts as like as they are winner. |
3. In your specific subject area, where do you think technology would help well? Note: Please be specific. Feel free to give us a list from the Basic Education Curriculum that your students have the most trouble understanding. Example: Math - Decimal operations or English - Articulation/Comprehension. | It will be of great help in : a. Distinguishing the parts of speech b. comprehension skill as well as articulation skill c. Correct use of prepositions d. Use of idiomatic expressions e. giving the idea that a particular poem conveys f. drawing possible conclusions from a story read | SCIENCE- Anatomy of Man, Animals and Plants Solar System ENGLIGH- Subject- Verb Agreement Reading / Selections (Facts and Fantasy) | In MATHEMATICS, here are the topics which technology help best; 1. Visualizing the addition and subtraction of dissimilar fraction. 2. Set up a proportion for a given situation . 3. Rounding decimals 4. Multiplying fraction by another fraction with visual models . 5. 4. In your specific subject area, which topics do you find difficulty in conveying? If you can, please give us the reasons in detail.
